International Day of the African Child The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith. June 16th is the Day of the African Child. It was first established by the Organization of the African Unity in 1991. The day aims at creating awareness for the situation of children in African, and on the need continue improvement in education. It encourages people’s spirit of abundance to share something special with a child in Africa.The series aims to maintain and build on strategies to prevent stillbirths and provide better care to women and families following stillbirth.On this note we decided to celebrate this special day with Save the young girls foundation orphanage in Sierra Leone.
